Rain or Shine!

We have crazy weather here in Wyoming. I am kind of not a fan, but I will refrain from complaining at this moment. At LEAST it makes for some interesting discussions and learning at preschool! Even though it SNOWED much of this preschool day, we talked RAIN! And RAINBOWS.
Of course, we did a little cutting...
gluing...
and painting while we chatted about what makes rain and rainbows.
The boys and girls are now experts about such things. They know that rain and sun are the recipe for a perfect rainbow and that the colors will always appear in the same, rainbow order. Good stuff.
We also discussed the importance of rain and how it helps plants and other living things.
We conducted an experiment and it is still in progress. Results will be calculated at our next preschool, science session!
 I wonder what will happen?
For some MUCH NEEDED active movement time (since it was snowing outside and cold)
we pretended to have a rainstorm inside.
With a game called PARACHUTE RAIN OR SHINE!
 It was pretty well received.
And then the sun came back out and we went outside for real, just in time to go home!
Gotta love the crazy Wyoming weather!

Preschool in March

There was yellow and green and learning in between! March was a PACKED month!
Sometimes you just gotta get messy!
And create...
and play!
Yellow shaving cream to the rescue.!
We did a lot of number learning and growing in March.
Number matching that she was CERTAIN she wouldn't be able to do and then she taught him!
Lots of reading growth this month too.
So proud of the progress they are making!
 And they are cute too.
 St. Patrick's Day rainbow math.
Teacher number two was happy to assist the younger ones. I was grateful.
 A whole lotta green!
 And fun!
 The end.

Pet Day

One little,
 two little,
 three little pets!
 Four little,
 five little,
 six little pets!
 Seven little,
 eight little,
 nine little pets,
Ten pets at school on our PET DAY!
 Plus a few more!
 Just for fun!
 Animals are cool.
We like bringing them to school!

Bear River Dental Field Trip

We had a really great time visiting the dentist office! Ruby's mom really earned her stripes while giving us the tour and letting us do so many fun things while we were there! Here are some highlights:

First, we heard a great story. Well, actually, first we played on the swivel chairs until the rowdiness got to be a bit much. THEN, we heard a story!

We took a tour of all the important rooms. Especially this "CRY" room. Luckily, no one cried today! :)

In the next room, we got to do a bunch of things. We looked at x-rays of teeth, went on "airplane rides" on the dentist chair, checked to see who brushed their teeth that morning, learned about "hygiene" and then....

Susie took the time to make cute little molds of the kids' teeth. Well, THREE were brave enough to do their teeth.

Most of the rest chose to make a mold of their sweet little fingers! Either way, they all got a chance to see the ins and outs of what happens at the dentist office.

And goody bags! Thanks Susie!

And, pretty much everyone is squinting because it was so dang cold! GOOD TIMES!
